Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a series of alcohol-related thefts across Lake Macquarie and Newcastle in recent weeks.
On May 16, 2024, a 15-year-old girl from Windale was charged with 20 theft offenses for allegedly stealing large quantities of alcohol from retail outlets in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle areas.
The same teenager was arrested again on May 25, 2024, for allegedly stealing alcohol from two retail stores in Toronto, this time with another 15-year-old girl.
She was refused bail by the Lake Macquarie Police District and appeared in Parramatta Children’s Court on May 26, 2024, where she was granted conditional bail to appear in Broadmeadow Children’s Court on June 17, 2024.
The second 15-year-old girl, from Mount Hutton, was charged with 12 offenses related to alcohol thefts from retail outlets in Lake Macquarie and Newcastle since mid-April 2024. She was granted conditional bail to appear in Broadmeadow Children’s Court on June 26, 2024.
