According to a report from the AMA the John Hunter Hospital and Calvary Mater failed almost every single benchmark.
The report found four out of five patients are waiting longer than should for medical treatment.
The AMA and the Midwives Association both believe it’s due poor allocation of resources and under staffing.
Sonia Hornery MP took to Facebook to detail how Labor would address the health care crisis.
This crisis in our health system is being ignored by the Liberal Government.

NSW Labor will address the issues by implementing our Safe Staffing Levels policy.
This will see an additional 1200 nurses employed across the state over 4 years to ensure our wards are staffed appropriately, starting with emergency department.
We will also lift the public sector wage cap so that nurses can bargain for a pay rise they deserve and which is competitive with other states and territories.
Currently a level 1 RN in Queensland is paid almost $7,000 more per year than their NSW equivalents, making it harder for NSW to attract nursing graduates.”
