Construction has officially commenced on the long-anticipated Service Centres at Cooranbong, marking the beginning of major works along the M1 Pacific Motorway.
The massive project, stretching between Jigadee Creek and Newport Road, will see new entry and exit ramps built to service the precinct. But drivers should brace for delays – speed limits have already been slashed to 80km/h in both directions through the area.
Southbound traffic will be slowed from one kilometre north of Jigadee Creek to Newport Road, while northbound motorists will cop the same from one kilometre south of Newport Road to Jigadee Creek.
The restrictions are set to drag on until September 2026 as crews work around the clock to get the ramps up and running.
Motorists – buckle up. The long wait for Cooranbong’s new highway pit stop has begun.
