A 43-year-old man from Ipswich, Queensland, has been charged following an alleged assault at a licensed premises in Newcastle West last month.
Police say that around 11:15 PM on Saturday, March 15, a 31-year-old woman was assaulted at a venue on Union Street, suffering head and facial injuries that required medical treatment.
Following an investigation, officers from Newcastle City Police District identified the man and issued him a future court attendance notice for:
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
- Affray
He is scheduled to appear before Newcastle Local Court on May 8, 2025.
Police inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
