A 30-year-old man is set to appear in court today, facing serious domestic violence charges stemming from incidents earlier this year.
On June 5, 2024, officers from the Hunter High Risk Domestic Violence Offender Team, along with the Hunter Valley Police District, began investigating reports of domestic violence offences involving the man.
After extensive inquiries, police arrested the suspect on Subiaco Avenue, Cessnock, around 12:20 PM yesterday (July 3, 2024). He was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with multiple offences, including common assault, stalking/intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical harm, menacing with a motor vehicle, armed intent to commit an indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, property damage, and unauthorized use of a conveyance.
Police allege the man assaulted and threatened a woman in separate incidents in May 2024. He has been refused bail and will appear before Cessnock Local Court today (July 4, 2024).
