An elderly man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Lake Macquarie area earlier today.
Emergency services were called to Scenic Drive, Caves Beach, about 11.40am (Thursday 18 September 2025), after reports a vehicle had left the road.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District arrived to find a green MG station wagon had gone down an embankment and become lodged between trees in nearby bushland.
The driver and sole occupant, an 82-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with support from Fire and Rescue NSW, but he died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
