Port Stephens Police are expected to press charges following an incident at the Lakeside Tavern in Raymond Terrace on Thursday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to multiple calls from residents reporting a man on the roof of the pub on Benjamin Lee Drive, calling for help. Upon arrival, they found a 38-year-old man, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, refusing to come down.
After about an hour, during which paramedics were on standby, the man jumped off the roof. He was taken to Maitland Hospital for assessment. The incident caused some damage to the hotel’s roof and a Foxtel dish was broken.
