New Recruits Hit Cessnock Streets to Tackle Crime Surge

Cessnock has welcomed six fresh faces to the frontline, with new probationary constables joining the Hunter Valley Police District today.

Part of Class 365—the largest graduating cohort in over a decade—these officers are also the first to benefit from the “Be a Cop in Your Home Town” initiative, allowing them to serve the very communities they call home.

Locals hope the new boots on the ground will help break the cycle of crime plaguing the region.
