A 43-year-old man has been charged with multiple drug supply offences following an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in northern New South Wales.
In February 2024, police from Lake Macquarie Police District initiated Strike Force Picatinny to probe the alleged drug trade in the Lake Macquarie area.
On Wednesday, 3 July 2024, after extensive investigations, police executed search warrants at residences in Windale and Gateshead. They discovered significant quantities of illegal drugs, including commercial amounts of methylamphetamine, and smaller amounts of cocaine, heroin, MDMA, and cannabis. They also found cash and items believed to be proceeds of crime. The drugs seized have an estimated street value of $150,000.
The man was arrested near the Gateshead property and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he was charged with 37 offences:
- 32 counts of supplying prohibited drugs
- 3 counts of possessing prohibited drugs
- 2 counts of dealing with proceeds of crime
He has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Belmont Local Court today, Thursday, 4 July 2024.
