NSW Police Civilian Employee Charged with High-Range Drink Driving in Lake Macquarie

A civilian employee of the NSW Police has been charged with high-range drink driving following a random breath test in Lake Macquarie.
The incident occurred around 1 AM on Wednesday, 5 June 2024, when officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District stopped a Subaru Outback on Burton Road in Eleebana. The 33-year-old driver, who works with a specialist command, tested positive in a roadside breath test.
He was subsequently taken to Belmont Police Station, where a breath analysis allegedly recorded a reading of 0.151. The man has been charged with high-range PCA (Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol) and is scheduled to appear in Belmont Local Court on Wednesday, 26 June 2024.
