NEWS ALERT: Police launch search for missing man in Lake Macquarie; Police Chopper broadcasting messages in Green Point

Police have intensified their search for missing man Mark Walker, aged 45, who was last seen leaving a hospital in Belmont, Lake Macquarie, on Tuesday 4 April 2023. A search operation was launched with the assistance of SES, Surf Life Saving, Fire and Rescue and Polair. However, as of now, there has been no update on Mark’s whereabouts.

Police are now using a helicopter to search for Mark in the Green Point Reserve, and broadcasting messages via loudspeaker. Anyone in the area is urged to remain alert and report any sightings or information that may assist the search.

Mark is described as being of Caucasian appearance, olive complexion, about 170-175cm tall, of medium build, with black hair, black beard, and moustache. He was last seen wearing dark grey track pants, dark jumper, and white joggers.

A geo-targeted text message has been sent to the Belmont area, and anyone who has received a text message from +61 444 444 444 is advised that it is not a scam. An image of Mark Walker is available on the NSW Police social media pages.

Police are urging anyone with information about Mark’s whereabouts to contact Lake Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can also be provided via https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au, and all information will be treated with strict confidence.
