Emergency services are currently responding to multiple incidents across Cessnock after a fast-moving thunderstorm swept through the area this afternoon. The storm, which hit with little warning, brought strong winds, knocking down trees and powerlines across various neighborhoods, leading to scattered power outages and road closures.
Several properties have reported damage from the storm. Trampolines and other outdoor furniture were tossed around, causing hazards in residential areas. Small hail accompanied the storm, adding to the damage by impacting vehicles, roofs, and gardens.
