In Newcastle court today, a man faced 22 charges over a series of alleged break-ins. The accused, whose identity has not been released, was charged with seven counts of taking and driving conveyances without the owner’s consent. Additionally, he was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in the company with an intention to steal and three counts of aggravated break and enter without knowing a person was present.
The accused was also charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offense with people present, two counts of being carried in conveyance taken without the owner’s consent, entering a building or land with an intent to commit an indictable offense, possessing housebreaking implements, damaging property by fire, having goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen, being in possession of a knife in a public place, and driving a vehicle on a road despite never having been licensed.
