In a shocking turn of events, two suspects have been charged following the brutal stabbing death of a 22-year-old man in Newcastle early Sunday morning.
Emergency services rushed to Beaumont Street, Hamilton, around 2:40 AM on Sunday (17 November), where they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the young man tragically died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Police launched an investigation under Strike Force Mannum, with the Homicide Squad from the State Crime Command stepping in to assist.
A breakthrough came yesterday when a 27-year-old man from North Lambton was arrested at Waratah Police Station around 11 AM. He has been charged with murder and denied bail, set to face Newcastle Local Court later today.
Later that afternoon, around 5:10 PM, police tracked down a 33-year-old woman at a bus stop in Bankstown. She was taken into custody and also charged with murder. She too was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court today.
