Around 6 pm on Sunday, 7 September, emergency services responded to a serious incident on the Central Coast, approximately 70 km north-northeast of Sydney, involving an elderly man who sustained burns.
NSW Ambulance tasked a Westpac Rescue Helicopter to the scene to provide advanced medical support. Paramedics, working alongside the helicopter’s critical care medical team, treated the man for facial burns, stabilising his condition before transport.
Due to the nature of his injuries, the patient was carefully transported by road to Gosford Hospital, where he is receiving further treatment. Authorities have not released details on how the burns occurred, and investigations are ongoing.
Emergency services reminded the public to take care when handling fire or heat sources and to seek immediate medical attention for burn injuries.
