The Cessnock District Rescue Squad (CDRS) successfully rescued a young person who fell from a tree swing in Mulbring on Friday afternoon. At 16:02, the squad was activated to the incident and found the injured individual lying on a rock below the tree. Fortunately, the terrain allowed for easier access, eliminating the need for a full vertical rescue setup.
CDRS volunteers assisted NSW Ambulance paramedics in treating the person at the scene before carefully transporting them in a Stokes litter. All emergency services involved worked together to safely carry the individual out on foot.
The CDRS expressed their appreciation for the collaborative effort and wished the young person a speedy and full recovery. This update is made even more heartwarming by the statement from the boy’s mother:
“We are the parents of the boy that you rescued yesterday,” shared the mother. “We cannot thank you all enough! He just got home from hospital very sore and sorry for himself but it seems bad bruising including his kidneys. Rest for him for a few days. Are we able to make a donation to your Cessnock District Rescue Squad – VRA Rescue NSW? Again we can’t thank everyone involved enough!”
This heartfelt message highlights the profound impact the CDRS’s work has on the community. Their swift and professional response undoubtedly brought immense relief and gratitude to the boy’s family. The CDRS is a volunteer organization that relies on donations to continue their vital services.
