If this isn’t a red flag for the green dream, I’m not sure what is, these Turbines have the potential spark large grass fires or bush fires over the summer period.
This turbine is on fire and our fire fighters cannot put the fire out because they cannot spray water high enough.
Firefighters are the scenen of a wind turbine fire, located off the Hume Highway at Breadalbane. The fire, visible from the surrounding area and the highway, is burning high on the turbine and is out of reach of firefighting resources, but is contained.
Power to the turbine has been isolated and NSW RFS crews will monitor for the potential of any grass fires surrounding the structure. There is no immediate threat to nearby propertie.
