A man remains in stable condition after being repeatedly stabbed

Emergency services were called to a house on Shoreline Drive Fingal Bay around 2am this morning. Upon arriving emergency services found a 27-year-old man with multiple stab wonds to the back.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a stable condition following surgery

Officers from Port Stephens Police District arrested a 28-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to the Raymond Terrace police station and charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and affray.

It believed both men are known to each other.

The man was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court via AVL tomorrow (Monday 6 April 2020).
