Two teenage boys have been charged following investigations into an aggravated robbery in Cessnock yesterday.
About 1am on Monday 23 December 2019, a 15-year-old boy was riding his bike with a friend along Aberdare Road, Aberdare.
As he rode past two 16-year-old boys, police will allege the boys threw a scooter at him causing him to fall from his bike.
The two boys then punched and kicked the 15-year-old while he was on the ground before stealing his shoes.
The boy was taken to Cessnock Hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruising.
About 5.30pm, both 16-year-olds attended Cessnock Police Station where they were arrested.
They were both charged with aggravated robbery and given condition bail to appear at a Children’s Court on Tuesday 7 January 2020.
