Teen Driver Killed in Greta Crash
A 19-year-old man has died after his car crashed into a tree in the Hunter Region yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Leconfield Road at Greta about 2pm on Friday (17 April 2026), following reports of a serious crash.
Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District arrived to find a Kia sedan had left the road while negotiating a bend and collided with a tree.
The young driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
A crime scene was established as forensic specialists examined the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner as investigations continue into the cause of the incident.
