Breaking News: Driver Rescued After Car Crashes Into House at Sawyers Gully
At 2:59 AM this morning, emergency services were called to a serious motor vehicle accident on Sawyers Gully Road in Sawyers Gully. A single vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a house, leaving one person trapped inside.
VRA Rescue NSW volunteers responded quickly, setting up lighting and stabilizing the vehicle before using hydraulic rescue tools to remove the driver-side doors and B-pillar. This allowed medical personnel to safely extricate the trapped driver.
Once freed, the driver was carefully placed onto a spine board and transferred to a waiting ambulance. VRA volunteers remained on the scene afterward, installing structural support to the damaged house, which will remain in place until repairs can be made.
