Kylie Bailey, the mother of Caitlin Rose, who tragically took her own life after enduring domestic violence, is organizing a fundraiser walk in Cessnock on World Suicide Prevention Day. Kylie is calling on the community to come together to raise essential funds for Lifeline, a crucial support service.
The event, titled “Out of the Shadows,” will take place on Tuesday, September 10th. Participants will walk 9 kilometers to honor the nine lives lost to suicide every day in Australia. The walk will start and finish at Bridges Hill Park in Cessnock, with a 5:30 PM start time.
Walkers are encouraged to shine brightly with glow sticks and torches, and they can carry the name or photo of a loved one lost to suicide. The walk will be at a casual pace, and everyone is welcome to either complete the full 9 kilometers, join along the route, or meet the walkers at Bridges Hill Park at the end.
Donations for this vital cause can be made online at:

The walk route includes several key landmarks in Cessnock:
- Starting at Bridges Hill Park
- Passing by East Cessnock Public School
- Continuing past Cessnock Hotel and along Allandale Road
- Turning onto Wollombi Road and passing West Cessnock Pharmacy
- Circling back through Vincent Street, Maitland Road, and Victoria Street

This event aims to raise awareness and funds to support those affected by suicide. The entire community is invited to participate and make a difference.
