At approximately 12:30 PM on Monday, August 26, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was urgently dispatched by NSW Ambulance to Singleton Heights following a critical incident involving a brown snake bite. The victim, a male, was bitten on the lower leg by the venomous snake. NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting the patient to Singleton Hospital.
Upon arrival at Singleton Hospital, the helicopter’s critical care medical team took over, administering advanced care to stabilize the patient. Due to the severity of the bite, the decision was made to airlift the patient to John Hunter Hospital. At John Hunter, the patient was met by a NSW Ambulance road unit for a swift transfer to the Mater Hospital in Waratah, where he will continue to receive specialized treatment for the snake bite. The coordinated response highlights the rapid and critical support provided by emergency services in life-threatening situations.
