A toddler has tragically passed away after being pulled from a dam in Portland, in the state’s west.
At approximately 3:00 PM on Tuesday, 12 November 2024, emergency services were called to a property on Pipers Flat Road following concerns for the welfare of a child.
Officers from Chifley Police District arrived at the scene to find a two-year-old boy had been pulled from the dam. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Bathurst Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
