$50,000 Worth of Damage to New Homes: Police Seek Public’s Help
Lake Macquarie, May 23, 2024 – Police are appealing for public assistance after four newly-built homes in Cameron Park suffered approximately $50,000 in vandalism damage.
Between Saturday, May 4, and Monday, May 6, homes on Butterworth Street were broken into, resulting in extensive damage including:
- Walls punctured with holes.
- Carpet in a media room destroyed by a motorbike or scooter.
- Graffiti on finished walls.
- Motor oil poured on alfresco tiles and main floors.
- Tile glue and paint spread across floors, garages, and bedrooms.
These homes were nearly ready for handover to their new owners, who now face delays due to the necessary repairs.
