Armed robbery at Hamilton pub under investigation
Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery at a popular Hamilton venue early this morning.
About 3.40am (Friday 12 September 2025), an unknown offender entered the Sydney Junction Hotel on Beaumont Street armed with what appeared to be a pistol. The person allegedly threatened staff members before demanding cash.
The offender fled the premises a short time later with an undisclosed amount of money. Fortunately, no staff or patrons were physically injured during the incident.
Police quickly arrived on scene and established a crime scene, with forensic officers now examining the area. Detectives are also reviewing CCTV footage from inside the hotel and surrounding businesses in an effort to identify the person responsible.
Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from Beaumont Street, to come forward.
Information can be provided to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers website.
