A driver of a blue Toyota Hilux has passed out behind the wheel, whilst attempting to purchase breakfast in the drive thru of the Broadmeadow McDonald’s.
Around 3:10am Thursday officers were called to the McDonald’s on Lambton Rd, upon arrival found the blue Toyota Hilux stationary in the drive thru.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District attempted to wake the man, but he was unresponsive. NSW ambulance was called to scene , after a few more attempts the man woke up.
Officers gave the man a breath test and he returned a high range reading and was taken to Waratah Police and returned a second reading of 0.168
His license was suspended and he was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA, to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 9 March 2023.
