Drunk driver hits two police cars outside Newcastle Police Station

About 10:45pm on Saturday evening a 50 year old male has ‘attempted’ to park his Toyota Hilux in between two marked police vehicles outside Newcastle Police Station. In the process he has collided with both police vehicles.

Officers came out to find the driver still with the vehicle. He was submitted to a breath test which returned a positive result. Unsurprisingly it took very little time to return him to Newcastle Police Station where a subsequent breath analysis returned a result of 0.231 (high range drink driving).

The male was issued with a court attendance notice and had his licence suspended on-the-spot.
