Crews from the NSW Rural Fire Service, including the Raymond Terrace Brigade and several supporting units, are currently responding to a fire burning along Branch Lane in Karuah.
Firefighters are carrying out tactical burns in an effort to slow and contain the spread of the blaze.
Large amounts of smoke are visible across the area, and residents are urged to remain alert and avoid the vicinity if possible. Those sensitive to smoke should keep windows closed and set air-conditioning to recirculate.
Anyone who spots an unattended fire is urged to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
