With finals footy just around the corner the current Covid Safe rules for stadiums are limited to 25% capacity. ANZ Stadium can only have a maximum of 10,000 fans in attendance for the NRL Grand Final under the current rules.
But the Berejiklian Government is set to change the rules in time for finals footy allowing 50% capacity as the one person per four square meters is about to be halved, which would allow ANZ Stadium to have crowds of 40,000 people.
Newcastles McDonald’s Jones Stadium would be allowed to have crowds of up to 17,000 people attending home games for the Knights, unfortunately the Knights will not host a home final game.
The rules are likely to come in effect from October 1st.
