Mayor Philp Penfold has announced a new road to improve access to Oakhamton Heights which will be less prone to flooding.
The new road would be 8.8 meters high and the last time a flood reached that level was back in 2007.
The road will supercede the existing plans to raise Scobbies lane.
Mayor Penfold made the announcement on his Facebook page earlier this afternoon.
Council will build a new road to create the improved access to Oakhampton Heights. Consultation in works with local residents.
The road height would be 8.8m AHD.The last time a road at that height would have gone under was 2007.This would supercede council’s existing 2022/23 plan to raise Scobies Lane as this new proposal can be done to a greater height and width and at a cheaper cost. 👍👍
