A 44-year-old man has been charged following an alleged act of malicious damage at the Gosford Courthouse on the NSW Central Coast.
Police were called to the courthouse on Donnison Street about 7.40am on Thursday, 12 February 2026, after reports the building had been damaged overnight.
Officers from Brisbane Water Police District found the front door damaged, with liquid—believed to be an accelerant—poured near a window. Police allege CCTV footage shows a man at the courthouse about 2.50am, throwing a paver through the front door before pouring the liquid.
A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 44-year-old man about 3.30pm the same day at a hotel on The Boulevarde, Woy Woy. He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with damage property by fire or explosive, destroy or damage property, and stalk or intimidate with intent to cause fear of physical harm.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 6 on Friday, 13 February 2026.
