NSW Premier Chris Minns has announced a major boost to homelessness services, with an additional $130 million committed to expand crisis accommodation across the state.
The new funding will add at least 200 extra beds for people experiencing homelessness, including families escaping domestic violence and young people facing life on the streets.
“This funding can mean the difference between someone sleeping in a warm bed or in the gutter,” Premier Minns said.
With this latest announcement, the Minns Government has now invested a record $688 million into homelessness services across New South Wales.
“Our goal is simple — when someone reaches out for help, there should be a door open, a bed ready, and the support they need to get back on their feet,” Minns added.
The Premier said the investment is part of the government’s broader commitment to building “a better, safer NSW where everyone has a safe place to call home.”
