An elderly man has passed away while kayaking in the Hunter region. The incident occurred this afternoon, and it is believed that the man fell from his kayak and was found unconscious in the Williams River at Clarence Town.
Emergency Services responded promptly to reports of the incident, and paramedics worked tirelessly to save the man’s life. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the man could not be revived, and he passed away at the scene.
The man, who is believed to be in his 70s, was a beloved member of our community, and his passing is a devastating loss to all who knew him. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
At this stage, it is unclear how the man passed away, and the circumstances surrounding his death will be the subject of a thorough police investigation. We ask that anyone with information relating to the incident comes forward and assists the authorities in their investigation.
