Annalyse Blyton a 17-year-old girl has died in hospital following a dog attack at a Singleton home last week.
Emergency services were called to a Broughton Street residence around 11:30 am on Thursday, 4 September, where the teenager was found with critical injuries to her head, neck, and body. Annalyse was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The incident involved a 10-year-old large mixed-breed dog that lived at the home. Police confirmed the girl was visiting a friend at the time.
Hunter Valley Police, with the assistance of Singleton Council rangers, destroyed the dog with the owner’s consent and launched an investigation.
Police confirmed on Monday, 8 September, that the teenager had passed away. A report will be prepared for the Coroner, with investigations ongoing.
