NSW man has been charged over an alleged $1.5 million fraud targeting the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The 33-year-old first came to the attention of the Fraud Fusion Taskforce in January 2024, after investigators suspected he was submitting fraudulent claims as a registered NDIS provider. Police will allege the man – who is believed to have links to organised criminal groups – claimed more than $1.5 million for services that were never delivered.
During a search warrant executed in June 2024, investigators allegedly uncovered evidence linking the man to 80 claims lodged against 22 unsuspecting NDIS participants between 17 January and 30 March 2024.
On 19 August 2024, the man was issued a two-year banning order, prohibiting him from operating or providing any NDIS-related services.
Following further inquiries, the National Disability Insurance Agency secured an arrest warrant in February 2026, with the Australian Federal Police launching an operation to locate him.
The man was arrested yesterday after investigators tracked him to a construction site in Tahmoor, in Sydney’s south-west.
