SHOCKING: NSW Man Allegedly Caught Lurking in Women’s Toilets at Shopping Centre
A man has been charged after a disturbing incident inside female toilets at a shopping centre in Taree.
Police say the incident unfolded about 2pm on Wednesday (15 April 2026), when the man allegedly entered the women’s toilets on Manning Street and remained inside for around 10 minutes.
Several women raised the alarm, reporting the incident to centre security. The man was confronted shortly after and allegedly fled the scene.
Following investigations by officers from the Manning/Great Lakes Police District, a 38-year-old man was arrested at a home in Taree about 4.40pm on Friday (17 April 2026). He was taken to Taree Police Station.
He has been charged with:
- Breaching an apprehended violence order (AVO)
- Observing a person in a private act without consent
- Offensive behaviour in a public place
The man was initially refused bail but was later granted conditional bail in court on Saturday (18 April 2026). He is due to appear at Taree Local Court on Tuesday (21 April 2026).
Police say investigations are ongoing and are urging anyone with further information to come forward.
