Cessnock City Council prepares for ANZAC Day services

Cessnock City Council staff have been carrying out final preparations ahead of ANZAC Day commemorations, with crews completing last-minute maintenance at key service locations across the region.

Parks, memorials and public spaces have been tidied to ensure they are presented in top condition for the community gatherings taking place on Saturday, 25 April.

Council has thanked staff for their efforts in helping deliver a respectful setting for one of the nation’s most significant days of remembrance.

📍 ANZAC Day Services – Cessnock LGA

Residents can attend services at the following locations:

Cessnock

  • 5:45am – Dawn Service, Cenotaph (TAFE grounds, North Avenue) (Clayton Barr MP)
  • 9:00am – Morning Service, Veteran’s Park, Aberdare (Clayton Barr MP)
  • 11:00am – March (Vincent Street)
  • 11:40am – Main Service, Cenotaph (Clayton Barr MP)

Kurri Kurri

Branxton

Greta

Broke

Kearsley

  • 5:20am – March from Tennis Courts
  • 5:30am – Dawn Service, Remembrance Garden (Clayton Barr MP)

Millfield

  • 5:15am – March from St Luke’s Anglican Church to Public School (Clayton Barr MP)

Paxton

Neath

  • From 11:30am – Lighting of the Miner’s Lamp, Neath Hotel (Clayton Barr MP)
