Independent Candidate Nick Maher Introduces Himself to Cessnock Community

Nick Maher Introduces Campaign

Nick Maher, a relatively new resident of Cessnock, has officially announced his candidacy as an Independent for Ward C in the upcoming council elections. Having lived in Cessnock for just over two years, Maher has expressed a deep connection to the community, where he plans to raise his family.

Maher works as a geotechnician with Hunter Civilab, where he tests soils, aggregates, and concrete. He is a familiar face around town, often spotted conducting concrete tests in various locations.

As a candidate, Maher’s primary goal is to stay closely connected with the residents of Cessnock. He plans to regularly survey the community to understand their needs and to act on their requests whenever possible. Maher also emphasizes his desire to be a hands-on councillor, actively participating in and supporting community initiatives.

In addition to his own campaign, Maher has publicly endorsed Councilor Daniel Watton for the position of Mayor, aligning himself with Watton’s vision for Cessnock’s future. But has also said more recently he will preference Labor.

Maher looks forward to serving the community and making a positive impact if elected.
