Lake Macquarie Police seized a large quantity of drugs and cash during a vehicle stop in Morisset early this morning. Around 1 AM on Friday, 4 October 2024, officers were conducting proactive patrols on Alliance Avenue when they pulled over a white Toyota Camry, driven by a 30-year-old man who was allegedly disqualified from driving.
Upon searching the vehicle, police uncovered half a litre of liquid methamphetamine, crystal meth, cocaine, cannabis, and a moderate amount of cash. Both the driver and his 27-year-old female passenger were arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station.
The man has been charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and driving while disqualified. The woman faces charges including supplying a prohibited drug, recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime, possessing a prohibited drug, and carrying a knife in a public place.
Both have been refused bail and are set to appear in Toronto Local Court today, Friday, 4 October 2024.
