Police have arrested two men in connection with an alleged home invasion in Macquarie Hills early yesterday morning.
Around 3:30 AM on Monday, 30 September 2024, two men reportedly entered a home and assaulted the occupants, a 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man. The male victim sustained a stab wound to his shoulder and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The suspects fled before police arrived. Following an investigation, officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District arrested two men, aged 27 and 28. They were charged with entering a building with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Both have been refused bail and are set to appear in Belmont Local Court, Tuesday, 1 October 2024.
