Shocking Drug Bust in Sydney: Man Charged Over 900kg Methamphetamine Plot!
A south-west Sydney man has been charged in connection with a massive plot to smuggle nearly 900kg of methamphetamine into Sydney from the United States, hidden within industrial machinery.
The AFP’s investigation kicked off after a tip-off to Crime Stoppers and intelligence from the US Department of Homeland Security about large drug shipments bound for a Sydney-based furniture store.
Australian Border Force officers discovered an estimated 896kg of methamphetamine concealed inside two computer numerical control machines in a shipping container at Port Botany. The drugs were removed, and the machines were delivered to their destination, leading to the arrest of two men as they allegedly opened the container and handled its contents. One of the men was later released pending further inquiries.
The investigation is ongoing, with more arrests expected. If you have any information about this consignment, contact Crime Stoppers at 1300 333 000 or via crimestoppers.com.au. Reports can be made anonymously.
