BREAKING: Man Charged with Murder After Woman Found Dead in Windale
A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman’s body in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Windale overnight.
Emergency services were called to a home on Merrigum Street about 8pm on Saturday (April 18) after reports of a welfare concern.
Officers arrived to find a woman, believed to be in her 40s, deceased at the scene. NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive her, but she could not be saved.
The woman is yet to be formally identified.
Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he was charged with murder, with the matter believed to be domestic violence-related.
He was refused bail and is due to face Bail Division Court 2 today (Sunday, April 19).
