Major blaze engulfs Lake Macquarie school overnight
Firefighters have battled through the night to bring a large fire under control at Glendale Technology High School in Lake Macquarie.
Emergency services were called to Oakland Street just after 1am on Monday, where they arrived to find a two-storey school building fully engulfed in flames.
A massive response was launched, with around 20 Fire and Rescue NSW appliances and more than 100 firefighters working at the scene to stop the fire from spreading further through the campus.
Crews have remained on site into the morning, continuing containment and overhaul operations as investigations into the cause get underway.
