Lake Macquarie boxer building momentum toward 2026 Commonwealth Games
Hunter MP Dan Repacholi has highlighted the continued rise of Lake Macquarie boxer Emma-Sue Greentree as she pushes toward selection for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Greentree, a Type 1 boxer from the Lake Macquarie region, is gaining international attention after a strong run of recent performances on the world stage.
She recently secured a silver medal in the 75kg division at the prestigious Strandja Tournament in Bulgaria, further strengthening her position among Australia’s leading contenders in her weight class.
Her success follows a standout result at the World Boxing Cup in India late last year, where she claimed gold and continued her upward trajectory in international competition.
With momentum building, Greentree is now firmly focused on qualifying for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with current form placing her among Australia’s promising prospects in the sport.
Repacholi praised the athlete’s achievements, noting her contribution to the region’s growing reputation for producing elite sporting talent.
