Car Explodes in Flames After Hitting Pole – Four Rushed to Hospital

Four men have been seriously injured after a vehicle burst into flames following a crash in Newcastle’s west overnight. Just after 11.15pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to the intersection of Maitland Road and Ingall Street, Mayfield, where a car had struck a telegraph pole and caught fire. Bystanders managed to pull two occupants – aged 24 and 19 – from the burning wreck.
