Rider Dies Days After Mid North Coast Motorcycle Crash
A man has died in hospital days after a motorcycle crash on the Mid North Coast.
Emergency services were called to Comboyne Road at Byabarra on Friday, 17 April 2026, following reports of a collision involving two motorbikes.
Police were told one motorcycle crashed into the rear of another, causing the rider to fall.
The 70-year-old rider was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The second rider, a 66-year-old man, was uninjured but taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established, and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries.
Police have since been notified the 70-year-old man died in hospital on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
