BREAKING: Man Dies After Early Morning Stabbing in Argenton
A man has died following a stabbing in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Argenton early this morning.
Emergency services were called to Montgomery Street just after 4am (Sunday, April 19) following reports of an assault.
Police from Lake Macquarie Police District arrived to find a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from stab wounds.
Despite efforts by NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene. He has not yet been formally identified.
A crime scene has been established, with local detectives—assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad—launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area as inquiries continue, with the scene expected to remain active for some time.
